Summertme Fine Hair and Skin

Finally, summer is here, and I don't know about you, but I'm ready for some sun and fun. Most of us will be climbing out of our quarantine hideouts, returning to work, or just getting back into the rhythm of life. As awesome as those gorgeous summer days are, they can wreak havoc on your hair and skin.

During the summer, the body tends to get dehydrated due to excess water loss.   As we perspire more in the summer, the skin and hair suffer.  Staying hydrated is the only way to avoid drab skin and hair.  The usual 6 to 8 glasses of water daily are not enough to keep your body flushed of toxins and wastes.  Congestion in your circulation system can appear as puffy eyes, dry skin, acne, dandruff, and frizz.

To maintain your glow, consume half your body weight in water.   If you weigh 150 pounds, you should drink 75 ounces of water daily during the summer months.   Indulge in drinks like coconut water and lemonade sweetened with agave or a pinch of honey.  Opt for iced herbal tea instead of hot tea.  Fresh fruit and vegetables also add hydration to your body.

Drink up, have fun, and enjoy your well-deserved summer!
